Most people book a trip to Anaheim with the intention of indulging in all things Disney at Disneyland, and while it is true that you could easily spend a week exploring the massive theme park and restaurants and still not have time to do everything, there is a lot more to Anaheim. Situated in the center of Orange County, Anaheim offers great public transportation and access to top beaches, hiking trails, and southern California experiences. Here are just a few things you need to slip into your itinerary if you are planning on visiting Anaheim, CA soon.
Grab a Dog at Angel Stadium
Sure you could grab a hot dog from a street vendor, but it won’t taste as good as eating one in the stands of Angel Stadium. As one of the oldest stadiums in the MLB, if you are a baseball fan it would be a cardinal sin to come to Anaheim and not spend a few hours at the only stadium with a halo on top of the scoreboard.
Shop the Anaheim GardenWalk
If you are looking for a great outdoor shopping experience, the Anaheim GardenWalk will fit the bill. It offers everything from boutique shops to designer shops to a bowling alley and a 14-screen cinema.
Yorba Regional Park
Situated at the mouth of the Santa Ana Canyon is the stunning Yorba Regional Park. Catch the breeze as you relax on the shores of the Santa Ana River or pack a lunch and eat with friends at one of the 400 picnic tables that are spread out over 400 picnic tables. If you want to check out of city life for a few more hours, pack your fishing rod or disappear onto one of the many hiking trails that circle around numerous lakes and streams.
Spend Some Time at Disneyland Park
Finally, you can’t visit Anaheim without planning at least a day at Disneyland Park. The park is massive and spread out over eight themed lands so if you are planning to see the entire park then you may want to plan for a few days in the park at least.
